Grapefruit are delicious and juicy, they contain nutrients that can naturally curb our appetite and contribute to optimum health. Alongside being loaded with vitamin C, Grapefruit are an excellent source of calcium, folic acid, phosphorus and potassium. Grapefruit are highly nutritious with plenty of phytonutrients with antioxidant properties to fight free radical damage and keep us feeling and looking refreshed and rejuvenated. While the taste of grapefruit is sour and may feel acidic, they are actually a highly alkalinizing fruit. Too much protein, coffee and processed foods can often lead to acidity, our kidneys then have to alkalinise our blood through extracting vital minerals such as calcium and magnesium from main our bones and muscles. Signs of having excess acidity can be dry skin, red spots and stiff joints. The alkalinizing effect of Grapefruit help protect stores of our valuable minerals, alongside being a good source of calcium and potassium.
