Melon
Melons can help keep your skin vibrant and healthy as they are high in vitamin C, and are a concentrated source of beta carotene which can convert to the antioxidant vitamin A. While rock melon has higher beta carotene content, the red color of water melons is partly due to the antioxidant Lycopene. Tomatoes are well known for their Lycopene content which has been shown in research to be protective against cancers in humans, specifically prostate and breast cancer. Water melons also are a good supply of Lycopene and may provide similar beneficial protective factors. Melons are also considered a good source of potassium and have high water content. Both these factors combine to help us maintain optimum hydration.
Home grown melons are an excellent means of accessing plenty of refreshing hydrating fluids and nutrients important for rejuvenating and refreshing us.
