Avocado

Avocadoes are a healthy nutritious food containing plenty of nutrients to keep us feeling calm and help us to look and feel our best. They contain beneficial amounts of healthy fats and the minerals potassium, zinc, phosphorus, calcium. They are a very good source of the mineral magnesium and vitamin folate, both of these are suggested as contributing to settled nerves and feelings of calmness.

Avocados are an excellent source of potassium, containing more than bananas which are a well-known source of this useful mineral. Potassium can help us to feel and look our best through countering excess sodium to maintain optimum fluid hydration. It is easy to have too much sodium as it is prevalent in many processed and fast foods. Excessive sodium can cause fluid retention, the potassium in turn can help provide balance and restore the right level of fluids we need.

Potassium can also encourage our kidneys to work more effectively at flushing wastes. The kidneys role in detoxification may well contribute to clear skin. Avocado further adds to a healthy complexion because the potassium can assist the processes by which nutrients are absorbed by cells. In terms of mental clarity, the potassium in avocados helps us in that it has been shown to have a role in the transport of oxygen to our brain, alongside encouraging healthy hydration levels, these are things that help us remain clear headed.

Avocado contains a high percentage of healthy fats, including omega 3. The combination of fats in the avocado are considered by many to be extremely helpful for lowering blood levels of unhealthy fats. The fats in avocado are also considered beneficial because they assist in reducing inflammation in your body. Inflammation occurs internally where there is, for example, irritation. Irritation can come by way of any excesses or toxins, both naturally occurring and environmental. We like to lower inflammation as it takes nutrients and energy away from body processes that actually improve our health and wellbeing.
