Q.
Hi, what plants and flowers can I plant for the Monarch butterflies and caterpillars to eat. They have demolished about 30 swan plants and we have lost a lot of caterpillars. Hence have not many butterflies.

Hi Marian, their preferred diet is swan plants and members of the milkweed family. You could try leafy greens of the brassica family, however it is not ideal.
Consider rubbing the small eggs off the plants to prevent further overcrowding and hunger issues. To prevent the problem recurring next year, over-winter some plants, to allow them to get big enough before the next season starts.
